USA Masters Weightlifting

Masters Weightlifting is the Olympic sport of weightlifting for persons 35 years old or older. Weightlifting is the ultimate sport of strength and power and should not be confused with powerlifting, bodybuilding, or general weight training. Weightlifting consists of two events; the snatch and the clean-and-jerk. Masters Weightlifting is a committee within USA Weightlifting, which is the national governing body (NGB) for the sport of weightlifting in the United States.

This website is operated independently of USA Weightlifting. Its purpose is to promote the sport of weightlifting in general and masters weightlifting in particular.
Any suggestions, comments, questions, or complaints should be directed to the W

USADA Athlete and Coach Education Required for Masters

USADA Athlete & Coach Education will now be required for athletes registering for all major Masters events of the year - National Masters, International events, and the American Masters. USA Weightlifting would like to thank the Masters Committee and the Masters Membership for taking this proactive step for Clean Sport.

This means that athletes registering for any Masters Championships, including those already registered, must complete the USADA Athletes Advantage Education Certification in their USA Weightlifting membership.
Coaches are also requested to complete the USADA Coaches Advantage Education Certification in USAW membership.
Masters also are required to complete SafeSport training.
